Fitzwilliam Museum
Fitzwilliam Museum, founded in 1816, is renowned for its vast collections of art, antiquities, and manuscripts. Its highlights include works by artists like Titian and Turner, as well as ancient Greek and Roman artefacts. The museum is housed in a neoclassical building and offers free entry, making it a key cultural hub in Cambridge, with both permanent displays and changing exhibitions that attract visitors from around the globe.
King's College Chapel
King's College Chapel is one of the most iconic and impressive Gothic structures in the world. Built between 1446 and 1515, it is part of King's College, which was founded by Henry VI in 1441. The chapel is renowned for its stunning architecture, especially its fan-vaulted ceiling, which is one of the largest and most elaborate of its kind. The chapel's windows are filled with beautiful stained glass, and the famous King's College Choir is based there, known for its Christmas Eve service and other performances. The chapel stands as a symbol of both the college and the city of Cambridge itself.
American Cemetery
The American Cemetery in Cambridge is a World War II cemetery honouring 3,812 U.S. servicemen and women who died in Europe. Located just outside the city, it features marble headstones, a chapel, and a memorial wall for the missing. The cemetery serves as a tribute to their sacrifice and is open to the public.
